SJ Kee2023-05-03Tldr: Roy at Express Door Repair came out and fixed a damaged garage door within 1.5 hours from the initial call, price was reasonable and upfront, and even found another minor issue that he fixed for free. I highly recommend Express Door Repair. We had a relative lightly drive into our garage door from the outside, bending the door and getting it stuck so that I could only lift it 2 ft from the ground. I gave Express Door Repair a call based on the reviews. The owner, Roy was onsite about an hour later and took half an hour to fix. He was knowledgeable and friendly. He knew exactly how to fix it, and explained my options clearly (fixing the door, which is cheaper but may not look perfect, or a new door which would take time but can look perfect). I went with fixing the door and he made it look pretty tough to tell it was hit, other than the paint left behind from the car. He even spotted that my springs needed tightening and did it for free, after explaining the risk (there is a tiny tiny chance an older spring may snap, but if it was really on its last leg that tightening it would snap it, I'd rather have it snap while I had a professional right there who can replace the spring as well). If the spring is not tightened to the right level, it can damage the motor overtime, and he was able to show me the difference in the way the door moved near the top after he tightened it. Although the new motor was installed two months ago, the Home Depot installers didn't mention anything about the spring, so I'm glad Roy spotted it. In 1.5 hours of the incident, the garage door was back up and running, and with the added benefit of a properly tightened springs. I hope my door doesn't break again or have any other issues, but at least I know who to call if I ever need help with this!
